Being Healed from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and My
View of Life Had Completely Changed by Okada Purifying
Therapy
Clovis, Fresno County
W. Johnston (58 yrs old, male)
October, 2004
I have deep gratitude to the Mokichi
Okada Association (MOA) for the healing that Okada
Purifying Therapy (OPT) has brought to my life. So
I wish to briefly record what has been true for me.
I have seen OPT help myself and others, especially
when it is received frequently.
Background of My Health and
Finding MOA
I have suffered from recurrent sinus infections from
my earliest years. I have taken a great many medications
and seen a great many doctors and specialists and
had several surgeries. However, my life became much
more difficult in December 1995, when I developed
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Only 5 years later did a
holistic medical doctor discover that a 1993 root
canal had led to a massive abscess above the root
of one of my upper teeth. The abscess was surgically
removed in 2000, but the degradation of my body from
years of infections and medications left me greatly
weakened. In particular, each October, when the sap
in the trees went down, my own sap went down as well.
By January or February, I was seriously depleted and
had to go on complete medical leave.
In May 2002, I had just come back from 2 months of
complete medical leave to work (in the San Francisco
Bay Area) on a severely reduced schedule of 2-4 hours
a day. And even a 3.5-hour day was all that I could
safely handle on my best days. But a very important
work-related conference that is held only once every
4 years was being held in Honolulu, and I could not
afford to miss the conference. I knew that the 5-hour
long flight would be a real challenge, and it was:
I needed a wheel chair to take me from the airplane
to the luggage area when I arrived. However, during
this time, by an interesting coincidence, I experienced
Okada Purifying Therapy for the first time in my life.
The conference that I was attending was an extremely
intense super-conference of 4 international conferences
on advanced Mathematics. In my first days at the conference,
I had to be extremely harsh in choosing which gcritical
fewh sessions were really the absolutely most important
ones for me that day. After attending the sessions,
I would have to come back to my room and rest for
the rest of the day. But by the last 2 days of the
conference, after receiving Okada Purifying Therapy
each day, I put in back-to-back 13-hour days ? when
only a bit more than a week earlier even one 4 hour
day would have exhausted me. When I returned home,
I was able to resume a 40-hour (and more) workweek,
though not in concentrated 5x8 form.
Back to life without daily
OPT
When I came home, the nearest MOA family I could visit
was not nearby. So I was only able to receive OPT
about once every 2-3 weeks. I became quite ill, coming
down with walking pneumonia, a few weeks after my
return. Since I was not able to receive frequent OPT,
I turned to antibiotics again. They did knock out
the pneumonia, but I knew that taking more medications
was not the long-term answer and that more purification
of my body was bound to happen. And Mokichi Okada
taught that illness is precisely the bodyfs natural
mechanism of purifying itself.
Two miraculously well-timed surprise visits from traveling
excellent OPT practitioners from Japan came at my
most-needed moments in October 2002 and January 2003.
And because of these boosts, I was able to work, even
though on a reduced and not a full schedule, through
the entire winter of 2002-2003. This was the first
time that I had not needed complete medical leave
in five winters: a wondrous achievement.
In April 2003, I made a return trip to Honolulu, this
time with my daughterfs family. On the third day,
I became very ill with a sinus infection ? a strong
purification, the biggest infection that I had had
since the pneumonia in 2002. I was able to receive
OPT every day to help me through the purification.
But I had to fly home, and the SARS scare was very
big at that time. I knew the infection was the old
familiar pattern and not SARS, but no one else would.
So before going to the airport, I again went on antibiotics
and took very strong doses of antihistamines, in order
to suppress my symptoms and not panic anyone on the
airplane. While this regimen worked for the intended
purpose, it took a heavy toll on my body, and I was
quite depleted for weeks after my return.
Once again a surprise phone call came, and I was invited
to come to the Fresno Zuisenkyo (Health Oasis Garden)
to be a participant in the May 2003 Health Promotion
Seminar. Just as May 2002 had changed my life, May
2003 was to be another month of great change for the
better ? but not without a great deal of painful purification
of my life.
By experiencing and witnessing the
great effects of MOAf s three enterprises ? the art
of healing, the art of beauty, and the art of natural
foods ? by myself, I realized that I want to help
realize in a concrete way the paradise that Mokichi
Okada envisioned. At that time, I was introduced to
Mokichi Okadafs vision of creating Zuisenkyo (Health
Oasis Garden) throughout the world and MOA people
were making one prototype in Fresno, California. Since
I was already thinking about retiring from my work,
I have decided to retire and move to Clovis, CA, where
I could volunteer on my free afternoons at the Fresno
Zuiseknyo, to do what was within my ability to do
to help bring about the paradise that Mokichi Okada
envisioned.
OPT at the Fresno Zuisenkyo
Since coming to the Zuisenkyo, I have given and received
OPT almost every weekday since September 2003. Receiving
OPT regularly meant that the two intense purifications
that I received after moving there (a viral sinus
infection and a bacterial sinus infection) both safely
passed much more quickly than in the past ? and they
passed without medication and without the usual lingering
after-effects.
So I learned how important it is to receive OPT regularly.
Our western culture has the model of going to see
the doctor only when you are sick. But this is not
how we should look at receiving OPT. Even if you are
not suffering, it is important to receive OPT regularly,
so that your body functions more effectively. In this
way, when purification does inevitably come, it will
pass with much less suffering. This is why it is good
for a family to all become MOA members, so that they
can give each other OPT regularly.
My own giving of OPT also taught me
just how miraculous it can be.
One woman to whom I (and others) gave OPT over the
course of several months had been told that, following
the failure of two months of physical therapy, her
painful arm must have surgery. Now her arm is 100%
normal, thanks to OPT.
Another woman had shattered the bones at the base
of her spine in a fall 4 years earlier. A surgeon
then removed the bone fragments. Since then, she had
been in constant pain. Every day, she wore an electronic
band around her pelvis, with which she could administer
electrical nerve stimulation to relieve her pain.
We gave her OPT for 10 consecutive days, which included
two days of an intensive Health Promotion Seminar.
About the 6th day, she removed the electronic device
for the first time. And now, 6 months later, she still
has never used the electronic band again and is continuing
to achieve new milestones of success.
The Future
My discovery of MOA and OPT has dramatically changed
my life for the better. I watch the heated debates
about Medicare drug benefits and about the rising
costs of drugs. And each day I see MOA members of
all ages, even into their 90fs, who are living their
lives with OPT instead of with drugs. And I wonder
when the world will awaken to what is here for them
to see. I myself have taken no drugs since May 2003
? almost a year ago.
My own future feels very good. I am doing things each
day that are making the world a better place. I am
helping people to experience healing that they never
thought possible. I am helping to build the paradise
that is truly possible, if we only wake up and see.
For my own future, I want to find a good balance,
which will allow me to continue to avidly foster the
three enterprises of MOA, as well as the other interests
for which my talents suit me in life. Art is one of
those interests and one of the three enterprises,
and I am creating art each week now ? and want to
do more. I want to learn more about my ancestors and
to complete the books that I have had to defer for
so many years about my Fatherfs battalion in World
War II. I want the healthy balance within my life
to include time with my family and for rest and exercise
and a healthy diet. And I want everyone to feel the
hope that OPT and MOA has made possible in my life.
